For those who indicated an interest in our trip to Jersey in 2019, the committee, while fully supportive of the plan, are nevertheless cognisant of our commitments to the various leagues in which we play as a club, and have decided to try and reschedule our tour to mid September 2019 as the April dates couldn’t be facilitated.
We should be in a position by the end of this current season to have a final decision and more precise details.
It would be our intention to travel on a Tuesday, returning Saturday. At this moment the cost, which includes 4 nights on a half board basis in the 3 star Mayfair Hotel in St Helier and flights, is estimated at approximately £320 sharing. This represents excellent value but this is an estimate until the 2019 flights’ schedule is confirmed.
It is hoped most if not all of those who expressed initial interest in this Club Tour will still be able to come when final plans are made, but if you are no longer interested can you please advise any member of committee so we are working with accurate numbers.

As you are aware the Club Competition Finals (men & ladies) are being held on Monday & Tuesday 3rd & 4th September and as in previous years we are all encouraged to come and support and cheer on those who have won through.
As an even greater incentive to come along – as if you need one – a BBQ is planned for after play on the Monday evening. For those who prefer to eat inside, the Greeves room in the main clubhouse has been booked.
Food – burgers, sausages, salad etc will be provided free of charge. In order to know how many to cater for please put your name on the lists on the club noticeboards by 18 August.

Congratulations from all members to the Vets’ number 1 team:-
- first of all for winning their league for the second year running with three matches to go
- secondly for reaching the final of the Thornton Cup
NB Final will take place this Friday 10 August at Forthriver Bowling Club starting at 09.30
Congratulations will shortly be due to the Vets’ number 2 team who should win their league.
Congratulations to Helen Wilson & Karen Woodside who played on the victorious NIWPGL Team at the weekend winning all their 3 matches.
