It is my sad task to inform you of the death of one of our esteemed and well liked members, Wesley Ritchie at the grand age of 98.

Wesley died peacefully in the Somme Nursing Home, where he spent his last few years, being an ex service man, and having served in the Fleet Air Arm section of the Royal Navy following the second World War.

He is survived by his daughter Hilary and family, to whom as a Club,we extend sincere sympathy and condolences at this time of loss.

Funeral arrangements will be advised when known.

As most of you will know Tony Wilson hasn’t been very well and was in Domnall Nursing home for an extended period.

I’m delighted to inform you that he is now home and I don’t know what they did to him but he is in great form with not a glimpse of his normal grumpiness about him

Tony has followed the results of all the teams closely this year and was particularly pleased to see his Vets 1 team win their league.

This will be Tony’s first year as a club member that he has not won a medal of some description and according to him he could still out bowl most of us from the confines of his bed!!

CI Knock and its members mean a great deal to Tony who has given much to the club in various capacities and we look forward to seeing him at Knock either playing or conducting in his favourite activity of commenting on our bowls soon

OPENING DAY.  

The new season this year will open on Monday, 6th April. Tournament director Charlie Costley will have the afternoon play organised with his usual expertise, and Club President Karen McNeill will deliver the first bowl at 2pm, following the unfurling of the flag. A meal from Maple Café, along with prize distribution, will take place after the tournament. Cost for the day is £12. Please indicate by return whether you wish to attend. Looking forward to a good turnout.
