Mixed rinks on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Ladies rinks on Wed afternoons and Social rinks on Friday afternoon will commence week beginning 25th April.
At all other times members should book rinks using the Rinks Booking Diary online.

Club Information
The Green is open for play 7 days a week, morning, afternoon and evening. There is normally no casual play when home matches are being played (e.g. Mon afternoons; Wed evenings; Thurs and Sat afternoons). Dates are listed on notice boards & website: https://knockbc.co
The green is closed during the month of March. The timetable below is subject to green maintenance:

Dress code
The ladies clothing for matches and for special days on which “whites” are worn is white bowling trousers; club shirt and white or blue fleece / jacket. On other occasions grey trousers may be required. Club shirts are available to purchase from the Secretary.
Men’s clothing: grey trousers and club shirt for Veterans and Midweek matches. For Saturday matches white trousers and club shirt are worn.
Casual clothing may be worn at Saturday morning coaching, rinks, casual play and club competitions (except for finals).
Flat-soled bowling shoes must be worn on the green at all times. Bowling shoes must be changed into at the green or main clubhouse and not worn from the car park.
N.B. Smoking / Vaping is not permitted on the green, in the surrounding area, or in the pavilion and clubhouse. Dogs (except for assistant dogs) are not permitted within the perimeter.
Mixed Rinks and Belfast Evening Ladies’ League – Monday evenings
Mixed Rinks is an internal club competition for members which runs throughout the season.
The list for names closes at 6.55 pm for a prompt 7 p.m. start.
The B.E.L.L. matches will involve the use of one rink.
Mixed Rinks – Tuesday evenings
These take place on a Tuesday evening and follow the above format. [Friday Mixed is ‘Social’ (no cards)]
Ladies’ Rinks – Wednesday afternoons
These also run throughout the season. The start time is 2:00 p.m. To ensure a game, names must be on the list by 1:55 p.m.
Matches
The Ladies’ Senior Team is comprised of 16 players who play in the Senior League and compete for the Stylux Cup. The Junior Team has 8 players who play in the Junior Town League and compete for the Hazel Getty Cup. The BELL League has 1 rink (possibly 2) and is played on Monday evenings. All the cups are knock-out competitions. The league matches take place on Thursday afternoons (apart from the BELL).
The Men’s Saturday ‘A’ team competes in Division 3 and the ‘B’ team in Division 5 of the NIPGL. The Mid-week team is in Division 2 of the Midweek league (4 rinks of 4). The Veterans teams are composed of 8 players. In 2022 three teams will play in the Veterans leagues.
Coaching
Free coaching sessions are held each Saturday morning from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. during the months of May and June and are open to both members and non-members.
Club Competitions
Members are encouraged to play in various club competitions annually. These are advertised on the Club notice boards. The Finals are held in early September.
Tournaments
There are various special days and fun tournaments during the season. These will be advertised on the notice boards in our Pavilion and on the club website. Members will be emailed.
Outside Tournaments
CI Knock is a member of the Northern Ireland Private Greens League (NIPGL) & Northern Ireland Women’s Private Greens League (NIWPGL) which in turn are affiliated to the Irish Bowling Association (IBA) & Irish Women’s Bowling Association (IWBA). As a member of the Club members may enter competitions or licensed tournaments run under the auspices of these affiliated bodies.

Security
It is important that members secure the pavilion and perimeter gate padlock properly on leaving the premises. A key fob for entry to the main CIYMS gate and clubhouse can be purchased from the main office for £5. There are a limited number of main pavilion lockers still available, and these can be allocated. A key for our club pavilion may be purchased from the Club Secretary for £3:00.
Additional information
Mats, jacks and spare bowls are available in the wooden shed. Its lock has the same combination as that on the main gate. These items are available for members: they should be returned to the shed and stored tidily. The shed should be locked after use. Until further notice the RINKS DIARY SYSTEM for booking will be used.
On joining the Club members have access to the main clubhouse and its facilities. Members are issued with a card giving discounts at the bar. Information about the rules and etiquette of playing bowls can be found on our website. For any further enquiries please contact any club official.
