Club Update

ON THE GREEN

As the current season draws to a close, we can reflect on a very successful playing record on all fronts.

On Tuesday evening past, the men’s Senior team secured its place in the NIPGL Division 2 with a 5 points win over Mossley. The objective to retain Div 2 status was achieved which was a superb effort by all who played throughout the season.

This combined with the men’s B team finishing 5th in Division 4, and the unprecedented success of the Vets playing group who won 3 leagues, 1 cup, and a singles championship, made it a season of which we can all be rightly proud.

Both ladies teams also enjoyed a fine season, finishing 5th in the Senior league and mid table in the Junior league as well as reaching the semi final in the Stylux Cup. The Bel league squad also finished as runners up which was a great achievement.

Congratulations to all members who played in all these competitions doing our Club proud.

President Liz – Coffee morning

Our President, Liz Carson, held a coffee morning last Friday, which was a huge success.

The coffee morning was in aid of MND, which she chose as her charity during her year of presidency. The event has raised over £2,000. She would like to thank everyone who came along and made the fundraiser so successful. You can add further contributions up to Presidents Day.

Well done, Liz.

Mixed Triples 2024

Hi all,

The draw has been completed for the Mixed Triples tournament and will be displayed on the club notice boards from Monday afternoon. There is a smaller entry than previous years so there will be fewer games and the tournament should end earlier. I am sure all the competitors would appreciate support from other members not taking part in the event.

MIXED TRIPLES 2024

The Mixed Triples tournament will be held on Friday 16th August, starting at 1.30pm.

It will be a 2 bowl triples competition played over a round robin league guaranteeing all players 2 games of 6 ends. The winning triple from each section will then play a semi-final of 6 ends, followed by a final of 7 ends.

Triples have been drawn but it is personal choice what position each member plays and they may change for other matches.

There may be a takeaway tea organised for anyone who wishes to stay after the final.
