It is with regret that I advise you of the death of a former member and President of Knock, Desmond (Dessie) Newell , who passed away on Friday last 16th May 2025.

To his daughter Lorraine, son Ian, and the entire family, we extend our sincere sympathy in their loss, and assure them of our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

For those who knew Dessie, and wish to pay their respects, the funeral service will be in Kilhorne Parish Church, Annalong, on Wednesday 21st May at 2pm.

Hearty congratulations to all those who represented the Club and played in the Saturday Team League at the Stadium over the winter.

CI Knock defeated Shafestbury in the Final today after beating North Down in the semi-final to lift the title.

Well done ladies and gents, who followed their victory by very generously donating all the prize money (£160) to the new Viewing Enclosure which we hope will be in place by the end of June. Sincere thanks to everyone involved.

Sadly, I must advise you of two bereavements concerning families with our club, which have taken place within the last few days.

Mary Bayliss’s son in law George was taken gravely ill last week and died on Friday. To Mary, her daughter Sara, and the immediate family, we offer our sincere sympathy on this sad and untimely loss, assuring them all of our support and prayers in these difficult days.

Also, Elizabeth Milligan passed away peacefully last week, while visiting her daughter in England, to whom together with other surviving members of Elizabeth’s family we again offer sincere condolences from the club at this sad time.

Sadly, we must advise you of the death of Harry Diamond, who was a long standing member of Knock up until illness prevented his involvement . Harry’s late wife Jean was also a member of Knock, and Harry was a green keeper at the Club at Knockdene.

To Harry’s son Ian, and the family circle, we offer our deepest sympathy at this time of loss.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday 17th October at 10am in Roselawn Crematorium.
