To all members,

I just heard yesterday of the passing of Sylvan Reid’s wife, Rosemary.
Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with Sylvan and his family at this sad time.
At this time funeral services are much curtailed, but I will pass on information as received.

To all who attend mixed rinks,

You will be aware of the change in Executive guidelines in relation to numbers at outdoor gatherings … however, since we are a regulated body and take note of all who attend, casual play and mixed rinks won’t change.

There will be a strict limit of 30 within the bowling complex … the first 30 players will have priority and no spectating will be possible (should 30 players turn up).
Social distancing and sanitising should be strictly observed.
Keep safe.

Just to let you know :

Daphne McNamee, a faithful house member until a few years ago passed away recently. Her mother, Annabel Hewitt, was Lady President in 1964.
Some of the longer-serving members will remember her fondly.  We extend sympathy to her family.
A Memorial Service is being held in Knock Methodist Church on Fri 28th August…. the time has not been confirmed as yet. I will inform you when the information is available.

This was the last day of Neils travel around 52 clubs in Ireland to raise awareness of mental health issues and to raise some funds.

Hi Everyone
Mixed Rinks will NOT commence tomorrow evening (10th Aug) as there are some NIPGL Competitions on the Green.
However, they will commence on Mon 17th  at 6:00 p.m.  The early start is due to CIYMS STILL CLOSING AT 9:00 p.m. The mixed rinks will take place on both Monday and Tuesday from that date as long as Guidelines permit.
The format will be 5 rinks of mixed triples, with the first 30 members to arrive and sign in:  anyone arriving after the first 30, will be given priority listing for the next session if they so desire.
If you have a preferred evening it would be helpful if you would let me know: some have already expressed a preference.
To prevent handling the discs the organiser for the evening will draw the discs and inform members which rink they are on.
After a few sessions, the situation will be reviewed and adjustments made accordingly.

The Mental Health Charity match will be held on Friday 14th Aug at 2:00 p.m. when Neil Booth will play 3 ends against Richard Sweeney on his travels around bowling clubs in Ireland, visiting as many Clubs as possible, to raise funds for mental health.
The Club has already contributed £200 including President Irene’s contribution to the Charities.  Anyone who wishes to contribute may do so via the link on the IBF website or can give it to Neil on Friday.
