Dear members

Those of you who have been  members at Knockdene will remember Ellen Orr.  Sadly, Ellen passed away on Monday , following a fall.

Those of us who knew Ellen will remember her as a quiet, gracious lady and faithful member who played mainly on the Junior team where she helped many new members. She will be fondly remembered.

Our sympathy to her family members.

To all members,

Sadly Jim Cummings passed away yesterday evening.

Jim, an Honorary Member of the Club and a true gentleman, was a much loved member of Knockdene and CI Knock over many years. He played regularly on the Senior Men’s and Vets teams over the years and was always keen to advise young bowlers.

We will all miss his anecdotes about bowls, Linfield and his early life.  Memories of Jim will bring a smile to many of us.

We extend our deep sympathy to Ian, Gillian and the wider family circle.

I will keep you informed of funeral arrangements when available.

To all members

Sadly I have just heard that Ken Acheson, who resigned from the Club early this season, passed away this morning after a short illness.

Ken was an affable gentleman, who enjoyed his bowling.

Our sincere sympathy to his wife, Pat and family.

To all Members

It is with deep regret that I heard of the passing of Neville McNeill early this morning.

Neville was a longstanding and valued member of the Club.  He was, above all, a gentleman with a keen sense of humour.  He was a great conversationalist and enjoyed his cars. Neville loved his bowls and many of us will have admired his great spirit and determination to play in his latter days.

On behalf of the Club we offer our deepest sympathy to his dear wife Nancy and to Karen and the family circle.

Further details will follow.

Regards

Nan
