Although this coaching is primarily to attract new members our current members are also welcome to attend.
We do intend to offer coaching sessions as last year specifically for our current members later on in the year.
Please tell your friends or anyone one you think might be interested about this as invite them to come along and give bowls a go.
To all members, Sadly, we announce the passing of Charlie Costley’s mother, Tillie, peacefully at hospital early this morning.
Tillie, was a member of the Ladies Section at Knockdene, having joined in 1963.
She was Lady President in 1983 and was an accomplished bowler, representing the Club in many competitions, winning:
1980 and 1985 NIWPGL Pairs Championship with L. Simpson
1980 Irish National Pairs Championship with L. Simpson
1981 British Isles Pairs Championship with L. Simpson
She delivered the first bowl at the Opening of our present Green in 2016.
Those members in the Club who played with Tillie remember her as a quiet, gentle lady who always encouraged new bowlers.
To Charlie, and the entire family circle, we send our deepest sympathy and hope that the happy memories of her long life will sustain them at this sad time.
For your information: A Service of thanksgiving for the life of Matilda (Tillie) Costley is to be held at
the Moravian Church, University Rd Belfast BT7 1NA at 12:30 p.m. on Monday 3rd April,
followed by a private family committal at Roselawn Cemetery.
